Crane Culinary 100mm Hammered Tin Wiped Dish
Tyson Wachter is a blacksmith and bladesmith based in Paris, Ontario, Canada. After more than 15 years as a professional chef and restaurant owner, he brings a deep understanding of culinary tools to his craft. His handmade knives combine exceptional performance with distinctive design, reflecting a belief that well-crafted objects create a meaningful connection between maker and user.
Working primarily with high-carbon steels, Tyson focuses on edge retention, durability, and forged character. He often incorporates techniques and materials drawn from jewelry making, including silver, copper alloys, and semi-precious stones, while also integrating leatherworking and woodworking into his finished pieces. His work is inspired by the rich traditions of French and Japanese cutlery, blending historical influences with contemporary craftsmanship.
These tiny tin dishes are reminiscent of old-school french copper pans. The same tin wiping technique is used on the face of these dishes, while the rear remains rustic and unfinished. Each piece is unique to the next, all of which boast beautiful hammered dimples and a tin wiped face.
