This carbon steel shank is fantastic for quick and precise shucking. Oftentimes, blunt tips from regular shuckers break the shell and leave chips. This one is meant for scallops but can also be used on oysters but you need to be careful you don’t stab yourself. With some care, this very sharp and pointed tip that can open hinges like a picklock with finesse.
For first-time users, please do not use a lot of pressure or force to open the hinge of an oyster or a scallop like you would with blunt oyster/scallop knife, as this can break the tip off (but we can repair it!).
