Paring/Petty

We have grouped the paring and petty knife shapes into one collection, as they are both small knives, even though a petty is generally larger than a paring knife.

A paring knife is often used for many in-hand tasks such as coring, peeling, and trimming; think apples, artichokes, various fruits and garlic, etc. It is an extremely versatile tool that when you get a really good one, you start to wonder how you managed to cook all these years without it.

A petty (utility) knife often gets used more than a lot of common all-purpose knife shapes. Petty knives can be used to cut small fruits, vegetables, and even some smaller cuts of meats (essentially, all petty kitchen tasks). Often, petty knives are seen as small chef's knives, being able to used with as much versatility as its larger counterparts.  They save space and are a fantastic all purpose knife that can tackle most jobs in one meal.
